Weaver: Jacinto Gutierrez This rug is inspired in the ancient understanding of the tree of life common to many cultures around the world. The ancient believe system of the Mexica people teaches that the universe was split in two parts to create the current world, the goddess Cipactli was pulled by the brothers Quetzalcoatl

and kick start the year because this date also coincides with the transition of spring to summer

with darkness and the world of dreaming

The yellow is dyed with Yauhtli (Tagetes Lucida

24 and 32  with this 8 fold rate of expansion in four directions to represent the expansion of the universe that creates itself to know itself

the left side we call Rubeæz and denotes the type of awareness associated to our intuition and conection to nature and the spirit world

The design has the smile pattern that reminds us that smiling and laughing is the source of all healing and we carry that medicine within us

The key to life is to balance these pull in the four directions and move on the fifth direction which is the up/down: construction or deconstruction as necessary

the first change that needs to happen is a change in attitude

This path of the warrior is the everyday struggle to let our spirit flourish
